Well, no worries, mate! Just slide on down to whatever dealership this pic was taken in and pick up a brand new GT350 for only $128, 000! The hell is an MSRP? WHO CARES, AMIRITE?!

Wait...how are there 137 worldwide if there are only 100 produced?!

Bull shit is what that is.

Manufacturers should really prohibit price hikes that large.

The other 37 are GT350Rs, but yeah, that’s still technically horribly incorrect.

Wow, a solid $71K markup on a Ford Mustang?! Who’da thunk it’d ever happen?!

Okay, that makes more sense. Why would they lump those two together though...feels like they’d milk every last drop of the GT350R they can.

For $128k, I wonder if that’s before tax...

What’s the tax rate where this is, 225%?

I don’t know. With a mark up like that, it’ll send every potential buyer straight into a Camaro Z/28 or the new-gen Camaro.

Who knows. I tweeted the pic to Ford, maybe if they care about their customers, they’ll search up that VIN and see where that car got allocated to and punish the dealer in some way.

Well for another $2k on top of the cost of that mark up you could feasibly get a “base” CamaroZ/28. Or an Alfa 4c with a lot of money for gas...

One can only hope, but one will not expect...

Does anyone have any real advice on this? My brother in law thought long and hard, had intelligent debates on the matter, and decided on a GT350. He sold a few other cars, went shopping for a GT350, and came away bummed. Impossible to find, he says. Any insight?

The car is heavily limited in production for 2015 — only 100 GT350s for this year and 37 GT350Rs. There will be many tons more available next year!

And... this is why direct sales are good, and dealerships aren’t.

I think if auto manufacturers wanted direct sales they would have gotten it a long time ago. Instead they are saving money by letting dealer associations pick up the tab on lobbying state politicians to ban direct sales. Besides, Teslas business strategy doesn’t seem to indicate that they are going to be in the business of being a car company (why are dealers still so worried about Tesla) rather a battery supplier showcasing its power and the ability an electric car can have or produce while still being good mpg(converted, of course).

I think Tesla is very serious about being a car company. I see more Model S’s than S-Classes, 7-Series, and A8’s combined. They’ve spent a lot of money engineering components in-house that could’ve been bought from outside. I think the Model 3 will entirely change the auto industry when it (eventually) gets here.

Don’t forget what the ‘S’ stands for in ‘MSRP’.

Well, if you are buying a track special and exchange that value into GBP I could buy a Radical SR3SL and a Performance pack GTI so I could have two street legal cars, one of which is faster than a mustang and a quick grocery getter.

That is the biggest “market adjustment” I’ve ever seen. The 2012 Boss 302s were marked up 5000 to 10000 but the 2013’s mostly sold at msrp.
![]() 12/12/2015 at 07:23 |

Why is it that dealerships are always a little sketchy at math, and never to your favor?
![]() 12/12/2015 at 07:45 |

2016 Camaro just came out. Expect another “marketplace. Adjustment”

Jeez.
And I thought my volvo dealer was bad for a $3500 markup on a Rebel Blue Polestar V60

Ehh...not necessarily. They're probably hoping to take advantage of a crazed mustang guy who couldn't get on the list. And he's not going to reach across the aisle

You should publicly shame dealerships that do this.
